Discover Ardclough
The Ardclough Village Centre is a multicultural exhibition and events centre, located in a lush rural area of Kildare, nestling on the banks of the Grand Canal. It features different exhibitions, speaker series and social events. It is a not-for-profit community centre that brings culture to rural Ireland. The centre is housed in a building that served as Ardclough's primary school, St Anne's NS, from 1949 to 2013. Various aspects of local and regional history are commemorated with storyboards throughout the building — writers and artists such as Emily Lawless and Mary Redmond, patriots such as John Devoy and Valentine Lawless, and horses and hurlers that won national and international fame.
